However, he took a detour to Europe, where he immersed himself in his family’s restaurant, Casa Brusada, nestled in the enchanting North-East region of Italy. It was here that Rick honed his culinary skills, discovering an undeniable passion for the art of cooking. Fuelled by his unwavering dedication, he eventually earned a degree in Business and Marketing while showcasing his expertise as a chef in several of Melbourne’s premier restaurants.

Rick’s profound desire to assist those in need, combined with his immense love for the culinary arts, paved the way for the realization of his long-cherished dream. Rick’s personal journey, marked by his own experiences of sexual assault, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and depression from a young age, has instilled in him a profound understanding of the struggles faced by vulnerable individuals from all walks of life. Spending extensive periods of time in psychiatric hospitals and participating in mental health programs in Canberra and Melbourne, Rick acquired invaluable insights into the lives of those grappling with adversity. Driven by empathy and a resolute determination to contribute meaningfully to the community, Rick, along with Worthy Cause, has dedicated themselves to extending a benevolent hand to those in dire need of support and relief.
